Thank you for choosing Île de Malvy for your stay in the Charente! We hope this break in our little corner of nature will give you time to unwind and enjoy wonderful moments together. This document brings together practical information to help you prepare for your arrival, find out what is available on site and organise your stay. It also sets out the house rules designed to protect the property and ensure everyone’s peace and quiet. Please read it before you arrive.
We will welcome you personally to Île de Malvy between 4 pm and 8 pm to give you the keys to your accommodation and the gate remote control, and to provide useful information for your stay.
Please let us know your approximate arrival time. This helps us plan ahead. Please also inform us if you are delayed or your arrival time changes.
To allow enough time to prepare the accommodation and maintain the shared areas and facilities, we cannot welcome guests before 4 pm, including for luggage drop-off or use of the facilities. Please plan your journey accordingly.
For your comfort, we provide bed linen, bath towels, a hand towel and a tea towel. To make your arrival easier, we also provide salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and sugar, toilet paper, shower gel-shampoo, cleaning products and equipment, black rubbish bags for general waste and yellow bags for recycling.
The cottage has a standard filter coffee maker. Filters are provided.
Charcoal and firelighters for the barbecues are provided.
Extra linen or linen changes during your stay, on request: single bed linen set €15, double bed linen set €25, bath towel €5.
Wi-Fi, games room, access to the park and bicycles are available all year round.
Kayaks, barbecue and garden furniture are available from April to October.
Swimming pool from June to September, 8 am to 8 pm.
To connect to Wi-Fi, select the “Malvy” network: no password is required.
For cycling trips, the island is ideally located on the Flow Vélo cycle route. Please return the bicycles to the racks after each use. Helmets and locks are provided.
Your kayak trip starts and ends on the island, near the bridge, close to the Maison des Frênes. You must remain on the upper section of the river, on the bridge side, above the weirs. Do not go down to the lower section of the river (below the weirs): you would not be able to paddle back upstream without dragging the kayaks over rocks, which would seriously damage their hulls. Kayaks must be put away after every outing and must never be left by the water, especially overnight, because of the risk of theft. Life jackets are provided and must be worn.
The games room is accessible at all times. Children must remain under their parents’ supervision, and parents must ensure that games and toys are put away after each use. Please replace the protective covers on the pool table, table football and table tennis table, and switch off the lights when leaving the room.
You are welcome to walk freely in the park and small woodland, which can be entered near the chicken coop. You may walk through the other cottage’s garden, provided you remain discreet and do not stop or settle there, out of respect for its occupants. Please keep noise to a minimum, particularly between 11 pm and 7 am. Parties and events are not permitted. Please put the fence back in place after passing through so that the chickens cannot escape.
We live on Île de Malvy all year round. We are discreet and mindful of your peace and quiet, respect your privacy and leave you free to enjoy the property independently. We remain available if you need assistance with your accommodation.
You will find the main practical information in the listing and in this document. Please consult them first, as they answer many common questions. For non-urgent requests, please contact us during the day so that everyone’s rest time is respected.
As the island is surrounded by water, young children must be supervised at all times.
Children may only use the swimming pool under the constant supervision of a responsible adult. Do not run around the pool or push anyone into the water.
Île de Malvy is private property. Visitors who are not included in the booking are not permitted. Exceptions may be granted in exceptional circumstances, only with our prior approval. Even when authorised, outside visitors may not use the facilities (pool, games room, kayaks, bicycles, etc.).
Close the bridge gate manually after each passage: it does not close automatically.
Switch off outdoor lights when they are no longer needed.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the accommodation, the games room and throughout the entire property.
Please place completely cooled barbecue ashes in the metal buckets provided. Never dispose of ashes in rubbish bins or in the garden.
Pets are not accepted, subject to applicable rules concerning assistance animals.
Please vacate the accommodation by 10 am at the latest.
A late check-out, until 4 pm at the latest, may exceptionally be agreed upon if requested in advance and subject to availability, for an additional charge equal to 50% of the nightly rate.
Please take care of the house, games room and facilities so that, when you leave, everything is in a condition comparable to when you arrived. Cleaning products and equipment are available for your use.
You may dispose of sorted waste and glass in the designated containers on the island. Black rubbish bags for general waste and yellow bags for recycling are provided. You may leave vegetable waste (peelings and fruit and vegetable scraps) directly in front of the chicken coop.
Please let us know about any malfunction or damage as soon as possible so that we can take care of it before the next guests arrive.
Lock the house and close the bridge gate, then leave the house key and gate remote control in the letterbox at the entrance to the bridge.
We wish you a wonderful stay on Île de Malvy!
